Sun Salutation Sequence (2 rounds)

The Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar in Sanskrit) is a foundational practice in most types of yoga. It works the whole body and is a perfect way to gain confidence in practicing at home. It’s also a handy way of getting in a full practice when you’re short on time. In this video, I only cue the breath and movements. I’ve never done yoga before or aren’t quite sure, then check out my tutorial video here.

There are an endless number of variations on the Sun Salutation sequence and this one is from a more ‘traditional’ Hatha Yoga. That means there are no chatturangas (yoga push ups) or upward facing dogs, making it a suitable alternative if you suffer from dodgy shoulders like me!
